Besides being caught up in the second year of my degree, work, enjoying my first season of cricket and generally being busy all of the bloody time, the other thing I’ve been getting my teeth into involves riding around on horses and waving a stick around (and imagine the ball to be the head of creepy weebs and ex-boyfriends, lol).
It felt really good to dig all my gear out again and mingle with freshers and some of the more experienced players. The club has people from all walks of life and we train at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club at the moment in the all-weather arena.
Last time I took any polo lessons was back in 2012, but I’ve decided to join the club at university and get right back into it. It’s funny how quickly our muscles get stuck in Couch Potato Mode; I was aching like hell after my first training session and trying to ride around half seat at a canter for the first time in years.
Nice club shirts, though:
First competition is in December. Go, London!
